Congratulations to Steven Noyce and Jorge Cardenas who both successfully defended their PhD dissertations on July 9, 2020 (back-to-back Franklin group defenses!). Dr. Noyce performed in-depth studies on the sensitivity of low-dimensional nanomaterials for use in various sensing structures and Dr. Cardenas explored new inks and techniques for the in-place printing of electronics. Truly exemplary work from both and they will be sorely missed in the lab!
Meanwhile, less than one month later, Yuh-Chen Lin successfully defended her PhD dissertation on August 6, 2020. Dr. Lin studied material and structural aspects of 2D negative capacitance field-effect transistors. As with Steven and Jorge, Yuh-Chen will be greatly missed in the group and we wish her the very best of luck!
