Dr. Cao received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from The Australian National University in 2013. His research interests are on the mechanics and applications of soft materials and nanomaterials. He employs a combination of experimental, theoretical and numerical approaches to understand materials and related phenomena in engineering and biological systems. Dr. Cao also works to develop novel materials and devices with exceptional properties and wide applications in various fields. He joined the Franklin Group at Duke University in 2014 and is focusing on nanoelectronics and printed electronics, including flexible electronics.
